Farrah Fawcett

Farrah Fawcett, dead from cancer at sixty-two. 

Just about every boy I knew back in the day had this poster hanging in their rooms.  (Right alongside the poster with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. And the one with Evel Knievel jumping over something that was en fuego.) That's a tough standard to try and live up to right there.  She was not only gorgeous, she was seemingly happy in this photo. She looked like she wanted to have fun, and had not a care in the world. She was married to the very dreamy Steve Austin at that stage, and had a hyphenated last name, to boot. Plus she was one of Charlie's Angels and got to drive a Mustang Cobra.  Could you be any cooler to an eight-year-old girl?  I think not.

While she was never my favorite Angel (TEAM SABRINA!), I am sad she's gone.  It feels like a tiny part of my childhood has disappeared with her passing.
